My last post was a recap of my lunch time trip to Wal-Mart, where I picked up some basics and tried to make a ruffled tiered skirt function as a work outfit.
I tried to pull this together by bringing out the flecks of purple in the skirt (originally I tried the neon green but the shirt wasn't really work appropriate). So I paired it with a purple tank and black basic cardigan.
Cardigan: Le Chateau (old)
Tank: Wal-Mart (old)
Skirt: Wal-Mart (new)
Normally I gauge my outfits on the reactions or compliments I get. My Rommie is always honest and she usually gives me a "you look nice" when I leave for work in the morning. The ladies I work with are pretty generous with outfit related compliments as well. But today, nothing....nada, zilch!
So I guess this look isn't a winner by most opinions but I really wanted this skirt to work for some reason. It's not that I spent a lot of money on it, it was only $14 but I thought it was a cute alternative to the regular pencil or A-Line skirts you normally see in an office. Oh well, I tried!
This blah response could also be due to the fact that I feel very blah today. No one likes returning to work after a long weekend but I feel like I ate and drank my way through the weekend. Probably because I did!
I didn't partake in any Canada Day Festivities downtown; just hung around the house and the pool.
But here's a peak at what I devoured:
Friday
Breakfast - McDonald's Egg McMuffin
Lunch - Costco Hot Dog
Dinner - Tacos
Saturday
Breakfast - Croissant with Jam
Lunch - Roast Beef Sandwich
Dinner - Chicken and Steak Kabobs
Sunday (went for an hour long walk)
Breakfast - Bacon & Eggs with Toast
Lunch - a Peach
Snack - Chips and dip
Dinner - Smart Ones dinner
Monday (Canada Day!)
Breakfast - English Muffin with bacon, cheese and tomato
Lunch - Roast Beef Sandwich
Snack - Two Honey Garlic Ribs
Dinner - Homemade Burgers and Taco Salad
This list may not seem like a total pig-out but couple all of this not-so-healthy food with copious amounts of alcohol and you have yourself a Post Canada Day Hangover!
