Style for Days

So last time for a Style for Days post, I featured a man with some serious swag. Again I am featuring a male celebrity that I personally think has a style all his own and oozes with confidence and sex appeal. I have seen him in several indie flicks but I really came to appreciate him looking HAWT in a little show called Boardwalk Empire. I love this show (airs on HBO) and I totally drooled for his character, the bad-ass tormented James "Jimmy" Darmody. But alas *SPOILER ALERT if you haven't seen this show and want to* he was killed off and I have missed seeing him in his gangster suits with a cigarette hanging from his mouth. The Style for Days pick for this post is Michael Pitt.

Michael Pitt can look a little grungy, but sometimes I like a man to look like he doesn't give a F*$% and still be sexy. And what is so alluring about the "other" Mr. Pitt is that he does sloppy well and he also cleans up so beautifully when he puts a form fitting suit on. He is long and lean so clothes fit him well and with that hair slicked back and piercing gaze, you KNOW he means business.

I don't know why but I seem to be gravitating more towards how a man dresses rather than a women these days. Women have so many options that it can be easy to see what works and what doesn't for us. But for a man, they really have a casual jeans and t-shirt look (which I am not knocking) or they have a suit (I know I am really generalizing here). So when a man's style catches my eye, it must mean they are doing something right. So I am in Boardwalk Empire withdrawal and have been in Michael Pitt withdrawal for quite sometime but now I have this post to get my fix when needed! :) What do you think of my choice for this feature?

Style for Days

For this edition of Style for Days, I am going to focus on the less fair sex :-)

With Justin Timberlake hosting SNL last weekend and appearing on Jimmy Fallon all week, I thought it would be perfect to feature his fashion sense. And he has it, in droves!

Justin always looks effortlessly polished, sophisticated with a boyish charm no matter if he is wearing jeans and a T-Shirt or a Tux.

His style is casual cool and he creatively lends his fashion sense to his own line of clothing called William Rast, named for a combination of Timberlake's grandfather's first name and Trace Ayala's (JT's partner) grandfather's last name. The label is best known for their denim and some have said that these jeans fit a woman's ass like nothing else :-) I personally don't own a pair..... yet!

I am guilty of not completely loving Justin's new single, Suit & Tie Feat. Jay-Z. I first thought it sounded a little too elevator-music-like. But the single has grown on me and I have an appreciation for the sound he was going for. Are you excited about Justin's return to music?

I think that someone is trying to copy JT's look here, don't you? Source: porhomme.com

Justin's confidence is his best style feature, in my opinion. He really has helped steer men's style away from frat-boy sloppy to chic, put-together looks without looking like he is trying to too hard.

Let me know what you think about JT's style in the comments!

Style for Days.....

Style for Days will be posts about those fashion icons who inspire us and I hope you enjoy what you see. The first of this series may seem a little "out there" but I LOVE her style none the less.

Dita Von Teese!

 Fig 4
Fig 5 Yep, that's what she wears just running errands about town!

Yes she is a burlesque dancer. Yes she was married to Marilyn Manson. Yes she loves to wear sexy lingerie and do a bit of fetish modeling (who doesn't!). But who can claim that this woman doesn't know what she is doing when she puts her "look" together in the morning?

What impresses me about her style is the attention to detail she demonstrates. Everything is carefully thought out from her 50's inspired hair to her flawless makeup and her unique accessories. Take a look at Figure 4,  the close up shows her choice of wicked hot sunglasses, a perfectly sultry red pout and the lovely broach that she uses to add some sparkle to her low cut dress. She always looks sophisticated, polished, sexy and well....she just looks the way a Woman should look. To me anyway :-)

Who are the style icons that you admire?
