Wally-Mart

Made a quick trek to Wal-Mart today to get myself out of the office so here's a quick recap of what I picked up.

Here we go!

I have been looking for a nice pearlized pink nail polish and they are hard to find; probably because they stopped making them in the 80's LOL. But I like the color on my nails, it's easy to wear and if it chips it's not as noticeable as red would be. I found this colour from Revlon which is pretty close to what I was looking for.

I found a great tip on a fellow blogger's site, Spiffy Kirms. She keeps these Simple Face Wipes in her bedside table on nights that she's too "lazy" to wash her face. She is super fit so I can't imagine her lazy is the same as my lazy :-) I really try to wash my face and apply good moisturizer every night but sometimes, I just can bring myself to do it. It is really important to wash your face to remove all of the dirt and oil to prevent breakouts. Also applying a good moisturizer will help keep your skin looking fresh and aids in cell regeneration during the night while you sleep.

Tried on this ruffled skirt and this neon sweat shirt thinking it would go well together.  It's hard to tell in this picture but there is a neon fleck in the skirt pattern (see close up below). I didn't love this look so I only got the skirt ($14) which I have a cute outfit idea for. I am not 100% sure it will work but stay tuned to see!

Meh...

Close up!

Work outfit, remember me?

I also picked up a neon skirt that I might wear tomorrow.

Tomorrow is last workday before a long weekend in Canada. It's Canada Day on Monday where we celebrate our joining of the British North American Colonies into a federation. Basically it's Canada's Birthday!

I hope you all had a fantastic Thursday!

  1. Hi, my name is Chantal and I am one of the 'Divas' that works with Sarah. lol We really enjoy your blogs. We all want to go shopping with you. You seem like a lot of fun! I see you were talking about heels. I'm a little heavier so I don't feel confident wearing skirts and heels but I prefer a wedge heel. How do you feel about capris?

    1. Hi Chantal! Nice to "meet" you. Thank you for your kind words! The Office "Divas" sound like a fun bunch as well and I am so happy that you all enjoy reading my blog ;-) I love wedge heels, I'm wearing some today in fact. They are much easier to walk in than regular heels and they offer more style variety I find.

How do I feel about capris? I think capris are a slippery slope. When they are done right they look polished and when done wrong they look frumpy. I think that capris should be slim fitting and well made (think more Cleo and Laura than Reitman's). A thick fabric with good structure to the capris is important. Have you ever seen someone wearing capris with a saggy bum and thought it looked good? Probably not. Since the capris are slim fitting, you can wear with a looser, flowy top to hide any problem areas. I also prefer capris to be paired with a heel of some sort, a wedge would be perfect! I am not sure how tall you are but if you are on the shorter side, capris and flats together can make the leg appear shorter.

  2. Thank you so much for writing me back. I took your advice and wore some capris today. I got a few compliments from the ladies at the office. I wish I had the confidence to wear more skirts but I usually wear pants. I wish I had your legs. Well...I'm working towards it. Thanks again for all the great advice!

  3. Hi Chantal, that's so great that you wore what you wanted and had some compliments thrown your way. Makes me super happy! Why is it that you think you can't wear a skirt? If you are self conscious about your legs wear a skirt that goes to just above or just past your knees. I come from a long line of women with great legs so thank you! But everyone has a genetic blessing whether it be legs, arms, chest, butt, great skin, hair or a smile. Take what you like about your figure and work with it and don't worry about what you don't like. Plus if you are working on improving your fitness or health in general you are definitely taking important steps in the right direction. Way to go!

  4. I wanted to say thank you. I wore a skirt yesterday and was hesitant at first but felt very good after. Your kind words made me think I was being silly. I thank you for being so nice and encouraging. We have never met but I appreciate your support very much. You are a nice woman. Thanks.
